A pick is a public, pre-game betting prediction posted by a creator on a social platform. CapperBoard captures picks automatically from verified accounts. A pick must include at minimum a team/player selection and an identifiable market (moneyline, spread, total, prop, etc.). Commentary, recaps, and celebrations are not picks.
Flat 1U treats every pick as a 1-unit wager regardless of the creator's stated stake. This creates a level playing field for comparison. If a creator risks 1 unit and wins at -110 odds, profit is +0.91 units. If they lose, loss is -1.00 units. All "Units" and "ROI" figures default to Flat 1U mode.
When a creator states their own stake (e.g., "2u play"), CapperBoard captures and preserves it. Reported mode shows performance using the creator's own sizing. Not all creators report stakes — those without reported stakes show "—" in Reported mode.
Each pick is matched to a real sporting event using team names, league context, date hints, and time proximity. High-confidence matches are applied automatically. Ambiguous matches go to human review. CapperBoard never guesses — unresolved picks stay unmatched rather than being attached to the wrong game.
Once a matched event completes, picks are graded automatically using final scores. Moneyline, spread, and total bets use standard settlement rules. Player props use boxscore data from ESPN. All grades are deterministic — no AI or subjective judgment.
Coverage indicates what percentage of a creator's captured posts have been graded. Low coverage means many picks haven't been matched or graded yet. CapperBoard is transparent about this — creators with low coverage are shown as "Building History" rather than being ranked.
A creator must have at least 10 graded picks to appear on the ranked leaderboard. This prevents small-sample anomalies from distorting rankings. Creators below this threshold are visible in the directory as "Building History." Only creators CapperBoard actively tracks can be ranked: a creator whose record comes only from historical third-party sources keeps a public profile and record, labelled "Historical Only," and is not ranked until live tracking is activated.
CapperBoard captures immutable snapshots of every post. If a creator edits or deletes a post after capture, both the original and current versions are preserved. The verified receipt for each pick shows the full edit history with content hashes.
Every pick on CapperBoard has a verified receipt showing: the original post text, capture timestamp, parser classification, event match, and grading outcome. This evidence chain is the foundation of CapperBoard's credibility — nothing is taken on faith.
