GIVE ME ALABAMA!!!!!!! College gameday returns to Alabama, and all week I have been hearing about how Georgia's run game in their RPO is going to completely change this game because of the weather. Bama has allowed the 10th least amount of rushing yards in CFB, and teams have a -0.09 EPA/rushing attempt against them. Alabama in general are a +0.41 adjusted EPA/play and this barely ranks 2nd only to Notre Dame in CFB at a +0.42EPA/play. Georgia ranks 31st in this category... Also you can't even argue that "Georgia has played tougher opponents" either, when looking at SOS rankings from Sagarin, Bama has the 9th ranked schedule, while Georgia has the 86th ranked hardest schedule. George Kirby is also 0-2 ATS/SU in Tuscaloosa agains Bama, and 4-5 against them in his career. My model actually has Bama winning by a big margin compared to the spread, a 4.49 margin of victory. Higher # Ranked CFB teams as a fav less than -1.5 are 80-41 ATS since 2016, a sharp spot that I will always take. Since 2019, Bama is also 31-12 ATS at home which is not that surprising. Above all though, the most important thing coming into this one is that Georgia has not trailed a single time this season. If Keelon Russell and Bama manage to get ahead early, Georgia will be playing from behind for the first time this season, facing adversity on the road. On the other hand in terms of adversity, Bama has faced some and conquered it, They were down 15 points to FSU at one point and down a touchdown to the Wildcats in Kentucky.
